What is Creative Ignition? Creative Ignition is a new type of art class – a starting point that fans a flicker of creativity into a spark of riotous creative energy. It is a place to practice making art in a safe, non-threatening environment.

Who is it for? Creative Ignition is for people yearning to freely and creatively express themselves or for those who feel blocked or stuck. Best of all, no previous art experience is needed.

Where: Intimate home studio (details provided upon registration)

What to expect with Creative Ignition – Altered Book Journal Series

Art journaling is a unique way of storytelling, an exploration into discovery, or recovery, of creative urges. It’s an engaging way to connect with your creative self!

Creative Ignition is about experiencing the beauty of imperfection and exploration of materials. Besides, you’ll be guided through each page step-by-step, and all efforts look fabulous!

Creative Ignition is learning to tap into your creativity. You will quickly begin to notice “creativity” in how you approach making decisions, and have increased ideas for problem-solving or divining alternative solutions.

What you’ll get with Creative Ignition – Altered Book Journal Series

• You’ll gain an ability to shift from a left-brain analytical mode into a right-brain expressive paradigm.
• You’ll develop and strengthen creative muscle, as well as make new personal discoveries.
• You’ll experience a variety of art materials: collage, oil pastels, acrylic paint, inks, stamps, stencils – or any combination of the above, plus more.

Extras:

• Take home tutorials of in-class work will help you to confidently recreate new art journal pages. You may even expand newfound art skills in other ways such as painting on canvas, scrapbooking, or making cards.
• Weekly Art Challenges encourage continued artistic expansion outside of class.
• A small class size (maximum 8) that insures individual attention as you explore new techniques and approaches to altered book art journaling.
• Class members who support, encourage, and inspire each other.
• Two instructors will nurture and shower your creative self with all the attention it desires, craves, and deserves.

Creative Ignition Class Details

• Supplies: All classroom art supplies and a book to alter are provided – all you have to do is show up ready to ignite a creative lifestyle.
• Time: Eight hours spread over 4 sessions will lead you into vibrant artistic experiences.
