Last week I spent a few delightful hours painting words or mantras in the studio. I aim to do more of that this year. These will be smaller “paintings” to explore design, composition, color, and technique. Putting an encouraging word on top will be a bonus!

And the word “Faith” presented itself for this painting.
I expect that using a variety of media (acrylic paint, painted and found papers, watercolor, markers, pens/pencils) and techniques (smash painting, collage, drawing and doodling, stencils and stamps, etc.) will take me beyond my comfort zone and into exploration of the question all great artists ask themselves: What if I try…?
