What We Offer
We’re happy you have found your way to Navigating Life. It can be a daunting decision to seek help and our goal is to help you find your way. Besides regular Talk Therapy, we offer a variety of ways to work with you in session using whatever works best for you to achieve the goals and life changes you are seeking.

Talk & Creative Therapy
for Adults, Teens and Kids
Talk Therapy
The goal of talk therapy is to improve mental well-being, address psychological issues, and promote personal growth. We work to create a safe place for you to delve into personal issues, gain insight, learn and implement new coping skills, and improve relationships.
We believe it’s important to find a therapist with whom you feel comfortable and understood so that your therapy can be tailored to your specific needs and move at your pace. Regular weekly sessions will soon improve your emotional and mental well-being.
Art Therapy (Karie)
Making art is a nonverbal way to communicate. Using art to express yourself is a way to tell your story without words. It’s also a way to find resolution for trauma or emotional pain.
One benefit of art therapy is its ability to calm the nervous system. I will teach how to use shapes and colors specifically geared to take you out of responses activated by fear or other heightened emotion.
Creating images with lines, shapes, and color taps into the subconscious — the place where your body stores emotions and feelings, where your body really knows what’s going on. When you can get to this level you are able to release negative experiences and emotions.
Anyone can do art therapy; no art experience is needed. The goal is to be expressive — scribbling with crayons may be just what you need. An art therapy experience will help you listen to your inner guidance to find emotional and mental well-being.
Play Therapy (Cara)
Play is the primary language of children and is an act of healing. When we “listen” to play, a child’s world opens to us.
Many children struggle with finding the right words to express themselves. Play allows children to speak without words. It is a safe place where children can be in charge, learn helpful behaviors, understand their emotions, practice self-control, and problem-solve.
Kids aren’t the only ones who benefit from play. It’s critical for adults to incorporate play into their lives, too. Play as therapy is appropriate for issues related to self-esteem, anger, anxiety, divorce, life transitions, and more. Play your way to better mental and emotional well-being!
ADHD Therapy & Coaching
for Children, Adults, and Couples
ADHD a neurodevelopmental disorder usually diagnosed in childhood. It is often first noticed in problems with attention, and in many cases, impulsive and hyperactive behavior as well. Behavior issues can severely affect children in school and in the workforce for adults. Most individuals with ADHD find their symptoms struggle with social interactions and friendships.
People diagnosed with ADHD very often have other needs, too. There may be learning disorders and mental health concerns such as increased anxiety or depression, or anger issues. A combination of therapy and coaching will help you discover ways to live successfully with an ADHD diagnosis and manage any turbulent emotions that come with it.
Child and Adolescent ADHD
Treatment approaches to help children with ADHD may include individual and family therapy, play therapy, and parent coaching. With support, encouragement, coaching, and time, children do learn to manage life skills such as time management and better ways of coping with inattention, boredom, frustration, and expressing emotions.
Adult ADHD
Symptoms of ADHD may diminish with maturity but never fully go away. Adults may see poor work history, troubled relationships, substance abuse, and other problems. Treatment for adults with ADHD will increase self-acceptance and self-esteem (you are not dumb!), strengthen relationships, improve communication skills, and expand cooperative problem-solving techniques.
Couples & Families
Adults living with an ADHD diagnosis bring unique challenges to couples and family dynamics. There are specific tools and techniques to help couples with ADHD in the couple relationship, and for parents struggling to parent a child with ADHD. Developing unique responses, extra compassion, and firm boundaries can turn a chaotic couple or family atmosphere into a happier alliance.

Parenting & Co-Parenting
Co-Parent Coaching
Co-parenting coaching is a service for separated or divorced parents to work together to raise their children. A co-parenting coach guides both parents to cooperate and communicate more effectively and with mutual respect for the well-being of their kids. Improved communication helps parents engage in conversations for easier discussions regarding needs and decisions for their children. Collaboration to establish rules and routines between households helps children feel more secure and stable. These tools and strategies make co-parenting smoother and less stressful for both parents and children.
Parenting Coach
A parent coach helps parents understand and improve their parenting skills. They are a guide or mentor helping parents raise happy, healthy, and well-adjusted children. A parenting coach listens to parents’ concerns and experiences to understand the concerns they are facing. Parenting Coaches offer practical tips and strategies to handle common parenting issues such as dealing with tantrums, setting rules and consequences, or improving communication. A parent coach provides emotional support, helping parents feel more confident and less stressed about parenting.
Parent Consultant
A Parent Consultant provides guidance, support, and education to parents facing various challenges in raising children. Their role of a Parent Consultant is to help parents develop effective parenting strategies, improve communication, and navigate difficult situations. Parent Consultants are neutral third-party professionals assisting parents to resolve disputes related to parenting, custody, and visitation.
The Parent Consultant begins by assessing family dynamics, parenting styles, and specific challenges a family is seeing. The Parent Consultant provides knowledge and resources on child development, effective parenting strategies, behavior management techniques, and communication skills. Other skill-building strategies include techniques for setting boundaries and promoting healthy parent-child
relationships.
The Parent Consultant empowers parents to navigate parenthood successfully with the knowledge, skills, and support they need. By providing guidance, education, and advocacy, Parent Consultants play a valuable role in promoting positive parent-child relationship and fostering healthy dynamics.
Couples & Family Therapy
Couples Therapy
Relationships are hard for all of us and sometimes need a little or a lot of repairing to move forward. There are problems that appear out-of-the-blue or ones that have been a problem for years. When we work with couples, we work with both partners equally to get to the root of the relationship issue and invite both partners to improve the quality of their connections. Therapy with both partners is powerful as clients learn to share with clear communication and in constructive ways.
We work with couples for a variety of issues such as mental health concerns, handling conflict, lack of emotional connection, parenting problems, and other significant changes to the relationship. Communication issues are the number one thing we hear clients talk about as the reason for needing therapy. We will work together to get your relationship to where you would like it to be.
Family Therapy
Family therapy is a type of counseling that helps family members improve communication and resolve conflicts. It involves working with a therapist who talks with the entire family or a few family members together. The therapist listens to each family member’s thoughts and feelings to understand their point of view and what issues they are facing. The goal is to help everyone understand each other better, improve relationships, and support one another more effectively. Family therapy is a powerful tool in helping families navigate difficulties to build stronger, more supportive relationships.

Separation & Divorce Services
Discernment Counseling
If you are a couple considering separation, or if one partner wants to leave while the other wants to stay in the relationship, discernment counseling may be for you. It is not the same as couples therapy where the goal is to repair a strained relationship. Discernment counseling is short-term, seeks to ascertain what problems can be resolved, and most often meets with the individual partner rather than the couple together.
Discernment counseling is a time to assess your options and decide on next steps.
Separation or Divorce Services
Separating from a partner or spouse is a big decision that doesn’t just happen. You will go through three stages: 1) thinking about separation or divorce; 2) starting the process; 3) adjusting to the decision and the changes that follow. Depending on your needs and the needs of your family, therapy or coaching can be beneficial at any or all of the stages.
High Conflict Relationship Services
Divorce coaching and co-parenting coaching services are for individuals and couples in high-conflict relationships. These sessions guide you in learning specific techniques that promote healthy self-development and empowerment to attain the happiness and peace you deserve.
Parent-Child Relationship Repair (PCRR)
Tension between parent and child(ren) often occurs as a result of divorce, separation, or custody changes. The goal of parent-child relationship repair is to improve parent-child relationships, reduce conflict and decrease stress in parenting.
PCRR is not only valuable during separation and divorce, it is also beneficial years after the situation that caused the rift in the relationship.
Life Coaching
Coaching is a helpful service when navigating a new area of life such as family changes, parenting challenges, or professional transitions. There can be times in life where there are multiple adjustments and one difficult event after another. When we feel overwhelmed, it can be difficult to navigate the choices, stressors, and unknowns of the future.
Coaching is not the same as therapy. In coaching, a mental health concern or seeking to relieve symptoms is not part of the goal(s). While we still address how you think and feel, we focus on the obstacles you may have and how to go about them skillfully, which can improve your confidence in difficult circumstances.
Coaching is all about getting you to feel like your “ideal self” in all areas of your life. Maybe things have been very stressful lately or you would just like professional guidance from someone outside of your social circle that can support you in decision-making and stress management. Working with a coach will help you achieve personal and professional goals faster and gain confidence so that you get on a path that leads to what you define as “success.”
